Well, me and GAT were having a nice little chat right now, and we stumbled upon a VERY interesting topic...
So there you have it: Technology in 200X is absolutely STUPID. This topic, therefore, is dedicated to finding the BEST examples of idiocy in the Battle Network Series. ...Yes, it's a forum game. START POSTING! |

Actually, the running around part is due to gaming mechanics. I seriously doubt that there would be a way for a player to pintpoint a specific area on the net via a GBA, even if there is, it'll most probaly be extremely complicated. That aside, What's the use of Programs anyway? They just stand around and speak in caps. They can't even prevent a navi from taking over the school network. If you ask me, they are just extra background props. |

*Points to BN6* When the Cybeast escaped... why didn't they just shut down the server? That's what the net IS, isn't it? And what happened to "click and delete"? Why do you have to SHOOT viruses and other programs to delete them? And why is it such a tragedy when a navi is deleted? Hasn't anybody ever heard of BACKUPS? Why do viruses look so weird, too? And where are they all coming from? Does someone sit in front of a computer and just "Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V" |

*is distracted from the main topic by something silly* i was thinking about this. you mentioned 200X as the year, right? well, we're already in 2007, and then the time would become 201X. but that never happened in the games, i think. so does the entire battle network series occur in the years 2000-2009, or what? and if so, wheres the bloody navis? D: |

More like the MMBN network is too impractical to impliment in real life. That and the fact that the main concern now is with polution and the war against Terrorism. And the fact that we can't replicate human brainswaves yet. Happy? |

Here's a good one. In MMBN3, to prepare for Alpha's attak, tanks were deployed in the REAL WORLD. WTF? Not going to help much... |

Actually the tanks only serverd to make things worse since the Alpha virus took over the tank...Wait Lan was able to jack into that tank. WTF? Shouldn't it be a bit harder to do that? He just proved the entire country's military useless... Also programmes have hands where everyone thinks their ears are. Which means they can't hear, which led to this amusing sceanerio in no.3: Programme: Dam, I can't find that 100z I dropped... Navi about 1 foot away from the programme: Hey cool, I just found 100z Programme: Dam, I still can't find that 100z... |

To add extra stupidity to that particular point, the answer to your question is YES! As of the first, what, three minutes of gameplay in the series, Dex states quite conclusively that at least the school idiot has heard of "backup data," and in fact has a Backup of his NetNavi. It's not something stupid, but I miss the corrupt Mr. Progs of MMBN1. To quote one of the non-random-encounter ones (and yes, it actually DID say this): Mr. Corrupt Prog: ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US! Oh, and on that subject, it actually varies from game to game whether or not Mr. Progs speak in All Caps: In MMBN1, for example, ONLY the EVIL ONES talked in all-caps; does this mean all the Mr. Progs in all of MMBN6 are corrupted and could self-destruct on us at any moment?!? PS: "Yes, this is a Forum Game" ...Then why the flesh isn't it in the Forum Games area? EDIT IN: Oh, oh, oh, don't forget the Program Advance that Doesn't Officially Exist because it's Useless to all but Suicide Bombers and the Boy Scouts of America (yep, they also are supposed to swear allegience to God "above responsibility to country, self or others" >.<; ) RingZap3 Chip Codes, in alphabetical order: ABORT Logical PA to make from that: EMP O' MASSIVE Deletes absolutely everything and everyone in the entire Net/Cyberworld Area, including, of course, the user of the attack, who is after all IN THE CENTER OF THE FRICKIN' BLAST! XD Seriously though, RingZap was an electrically-based attack that hurt the user as well. |

Not to mention the fact that in No.2 Protoman is very clearly deleted, but he isn't gone becaue as Chaud very clearly states: "I've got all his programming up here." Why can't Lan do that with Megaman instead of getting a game over screen? |

Mike: Well then.

becase he is a fag. lan is useless, he is just a carring case for untill megaman got that copybot, then lan was OFFICIALY useless thus stoping the battle network series, that is why lan has no back up data, he thinks to highly of himself (dam noob). |

In nt warrior when wily copys and pastes and stone men to take pharoahman. If Lan actually did this in the game, then Colonel could've taken out those heel navis in 5. Megaman could've destroyed duo and his missile in 4. Wily could've copyed and pasted 100 falzars to capture gregar. Shun could've made 100 Gospels. same with lifevirus and also bass when wilys on his side. |

Criminals from every game. How is it that they have ALL these ONB on duty and have none of them come to stop crimes? |

One word: Metroline. I mean, think about it: why would thy keep it free if Lan literally uses it 100 times a day. CHARGE FOR THE METROLINE! Also, there are supposed "Computer automated" systems/devices that are not jack-in-able. WTF? |

More on that, didn't Lan pull one of those "bullets are hitting the ground all around me, but I still don't get hit because I'm a main charecter," type of deals to jack into the tank? Also, in BN2, during the shadowman stage, you have seven ONB fighting off ONE navi, and they all get beat. Then Lan just jacks in, and Megaman beats the snot out of that one navi. (At lest I think it's one, I haven't played NB2 in soooo long.) And in BN6, you have Blastman taking over the school computer syste, but when not just UNPLUGE THE DUMB THING? System crash's, navi and virus's are destroyed, and you then just put in a backup system. Then the criminals, have you ever noticed how Lan always just "happens" to be at the ONE SPOT THEY DO THERE CRIME! I mean, in the first game it was okay, just because it was the first time it happened. (But even then, I got sick of it by the elec man stage.) But, come on! You have six games of nothing but Lan being in the right place at the right time. From BN2, I always wanted to know, WHO THE HELL PUT A COMPUTER NETWORK ON A BOMB! I mean, it's going to blow up, and the computer network is the one way someone can stop it. Also, for the main computer for the whole State, that computer networks security system in BN2 sucked. I mean, if a 5th grader could solve all the clues, why couldn't a crimalnal master mind? And then in BN4, I always hated those missions you had to do before the match, because they were so stupid. But they got really bad in the last tourny. I mean Lan goes to ANOTHER NATION AND BACK IN LESS THEN AN HOUR AND A HALF! (Or however long it is.) In some case's, he went to the other side of the world, just to turn around and fly right back. |

Lan: *activates Durr...BX, wiping all intelligence off the face of the island (Electopia, ie. Japan, that would be)* ~~This has been something along the lines of an endorsement for MegaMan Multiverse RPG, origin of Bit.exe and Byte.exe! (though they don't have Cyberworld aspects anymore--didn't fit in properly)~~ |
